I’ve lived all over this corner of the world—Limavady, Portrush, Derry, Belfast—but the landscape has always been my anchor. That deep appreciation for finding beauty when things are dark fuels everything I do.
The Art of the Moody Landscape
I don't just take pictures; I capture a feeling, my 'arty dark side,' as I call it. My favourite type of landscape is mountains with the sea in the background, specifically when the light is moody, strange, and dramatic.
I find Lurigethan Mountain inspiring and never tiring to photograph; it embodies the raw, untamed spirit I’m always chasing. My faithful companions are a trusty Nikon D3200 and D7000s, my iPhone (for those unexpected moments), and a Fujifilm X-A10.
I believe the best images are a blend of technical skill and that deep, personal connection. This pursuit of the darker, more textured perspective is also what inspires my AI art business, CharlieReM, my creative alter-ego. When you look at my photographs, I want you to feel the wind on your face and the magic of that very moment.
Our Guided Walks (The Partnership)
While I’m the one behind the lens and managing all the online and offline business matters, The Antrim Rambler Guided Walks are led by my trusted best friend and guide, Cecil Stirling.
We decide on every route together, drawing on our 25 years of hiking together and knowing every trail, hill, and mountain in Northern Ireland, to offer an unforgettable experience. Our audience is global, united by a simple love for Ireland. We welcome new hillwalkers and seasoned hikers alike, sharing the secrets of this incredible land.
